I was woken up by the small shakes that caused my bedside lamp to fall on my head, I suddenly felt wide awake and it felt like the house was being pushed back and forth on wheels, I was too scared to speak so I ran under the nearest doorway, When it stopped shaking, I ran outside where Mum and Dad were waiting in the front door way, suddenly, another shake started, nearly as big as the first one, I realised that somebody was missing outside, that was my brother Alex. I ran inside into Alex's room, he was fast asleep in his bed, his huge cupboard was shaking back and forth, it looked like it was going to fall over and crush him, I hauled him out of his bed and pulled him towards the door and we both ran outside.
We decided to have an early breakfast after this mornings aftershocks, so Dad cooked bacon and eggs on the BBQ, nobody really wanted to cook inside.
